Enna, August (1859–1939)

Danish composer of Italian descent. The son of a cobbler, he was almost entirely self-taught. The family moved to Copenhagen in 1870. In 1888 Gade helped him to study in Germany for a year. He had already produced an operetta by that time and become a provincial conductor.
