Ennis

Town in Ellis County, northeast Texas; population (1990) 13,900. It is located 51 km/32 mi south-southeast of Dallas. An agricultural trade centre, it also has railway workshops and some light manufacturing of oilfield equipment, paper goods, auto parts, and bedsprings. The city holds an annual polka festival.
