Epic of Gilgamesh, The

Oratorio by Bohuslav Martinů for soloists, speaker, chorus, and orchestra; it was composed 1954–55 and first performed in Basel, Switzerland, on 24 January 1958, conducted by Paul Sacher. The work's three sections are titled Gilgamesh, The Death of Enkidu, and Invocation.
