willowherb

Plant of the genus Epilobium, a perennial weed. Fireweed E. angustifolium is common in woods and waste places, especially after forest fires in areas bordering the Arctic. It grows to 4 ft/1.2 m with long terminal racemes of red or purplish flowers.
