Epimetheus| In Greek mythology, brother of the Titan Prometheus and husband of Pandora, a creation of the gods whom he had married against his brother's advice. When Pandora opened a box given to her by Zeus, all the evils which would plague the Earth flew out, and only hope remained. |
| According to Hesiod's ‘Works and Days’, Epimetheus opened his wife's gift from Zeus. In a later tradition, the box contained every blessing which would have belonged to the human race if Pandora had not raised the lid. |
