Ivrea

Town in Piedmont region, northwest Italy, on the River Dora Baltea, 55 km/34 mi northeast of Turin; population (1991) 24,700. There is an 11th-century cathedral and a 14th-century castle. Olivetti, the office machinery and furniture manufacturers, are based here.
