Resina

Town in Campania region, southern Italy, on the Bay of Naples, 8 km/5 mi southeast of Naples; population (1993 est) 60,700. It is the centre of production for Lacrimae Christi wine. Resina is situated at the western foot of Mount Vesuvius, and there is a railway from here to the Vesuvian Observatory. The ruins of Herculaneum adjoin the town.
