Eskdale

The valley of the River Esk, which rises between Scafell Pike and Bowfell in the Lake District, Cumbria, England, turns west near Hardknott Castle (a Roman fort), and ultimately flows into the Irish Sea at Ravenglass. A narrow-gauge railway from Ravenglass to Dalegarth has become a tourist attraction of the area.
