Etheridge, Anna (born 1844)

US nurse. An army nurse during the Civil War, she tended Michigan regiments throughout the entire conflict. She was once wounded, and earned the Kearny Cross for bravery. After the war she worked in a federal government office.

She was born in Wisconsin. She came to be known as ‘Michigan Annie’ and ‘Gentle Anna’.
