Eufaula

Town in Barbour County, southeast Alabama; population (1990) 13,200. It is situated on the Chattahoochee River (Lake Eufaula), 70 km/43 mi south-southwest of Columbus, Georgia. It is an agricultural and light manufacturing centre. On the site of a Eufaula (Creek) village, it was founded in 1820. It processes cotton, peanuts, lumber, and livestock.
