Eunice

Town in St Landry and Acadia parishes, south-central Louisiana; population (1990) 11,200. It is located 48 km/30 mi northwest of Lafayette. The market centre of a region that produces cotton, soybeans, and rice, it also services the regional petroleum and gas industries. An undergraduate campus of Louisiana State University is in the town.
