Euridice, L'

Opera by Giulio Caccini (libretto by Ottavio Rinuccini), first produced at the Palazzo Pitti, Florence, Italy, on 5 December 1602. It tells how Orfeo's bride, Euridice, dies from a snake bite, but is allowed to return from Hades after divine intervention.

The opera of the same title by Jacopo Peri (libretto by Rinuccini) was first produced at the Palazzo Pitti, Florence, on 6 October 1600.
