eurozone

Collective term for those European countries which have adopted the euro, the single currency of the European Union. By January 2008 there were 15 countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain.

The European Union's statistical office released data Friday, showing that the Euro zone seasonally adjusted exports in August fell by 5.
Brussels, September 18, SPA -- The euro zone trade balance showed a record surplus in July, official data showed on Thursday, offering another sign that the European economy is on the road to recovery from the global crisis.
Euro zone labour costs jumped in the second quarter, led by rises in industry and the construction sector, despite a hefty fall in employment and increasing joblessness.
