Euryanthe

Opera by Carl Maria von Weber (libretto by H von Chézy), first produced at the Kärntnertortheater, Vienna, Austria, on 25 October 1823. It tells how Lysiart is in league with the evil Eglantine to prove Euryanthe, Adolar's bride, unfaithful. They trick her and Lysiart succeeds in winning a bet, thereby ruining Adolar. Later the innocent Euryanthe is vindicated.
