Ballad for orchestra by Frederick Delius after fairy tales by P C Asbjørnsen (1812–1885), composed in 1917 and dedicated to Henry Wood, who gave the first performance in London, England, on 28 June 1919.

Ever since the release of Norwegian jazz musician Jan Garbarek's Eventyr in 1981, ethno, jazz and classical music has been used quite frequently to create that soulful, longing sound.
SCOT Stuart Wilson held his nerve to roll in a 25ft putt for a birdie on the final hole and grab the silver medal in the European Amateur Championship over the Eventyr course at Odense in Denmark.
It was then the orchestra's turn to shine, with Delius's beautiful Eventyr, a composition drawing on Scandanavian fairytales.
