Everdingen, Allart van (1621–1675)| Dutch landscape painter and etcher. He introduced into Dutch art the romantic ruggedness of Scandinavian scenery – as in Norwegian Waterfall (Staatliche Museen, Berlin) – inspiring Jacob van Ruisdael to paint similar subjects. |
| He studied under the Flemish painter Roelandt Savery, and travelled in Norway and Sweden. Another example of his landscapes is his Swedish Landscape (Boymans–van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam). |
