Tesco

Largest British supermarket chain, founded by Jack Cohen (1898–1979) in London. The name was a combination of Cohen's name and that of his supplier, T E S Stockwell. The company has almost 2,000 stores in the UK, and in April 2008 unveiled record annual profits of £2.8 billion.
