Evstatieva, Stefka (1947– )

Bulgarian soprano. She made her debut at the Rousse Opera in 1972 as Amelia (in Ballo in Maschera), and also sang Aida and Desdemona. She appeared with the Bulgarian National Opera from 1978, and made her debut in Vienna as the Trovatore Leonora; in Paris she sang Elvira in Ernani. She sang Desdemona with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden Company in Manchester in 1981, and Elisabeth de Valois in London in 1983; she repeated the latter role in her New York debut in 1984. She sang Santuzza at Caracalla Festival, Rome, in 1993. She also appears in concert.
