Music in which a computer has been used by the composer, generating or synthesizing the properties and timbre of sound; also, music which is generated by a computer's response to a series of commands, which are designed by a composer and fed to the machine on a computer program. A computer is often used in compositions which use elements of chance, as in a stochastic work.
