Flash

In computing, a browser-independent vector-graphic animation technology, developed by Macromedia, which allows complex multimedia animations to be displayed as a Web page, as long as the browser is equipped with the necessary plug-ins. Web sites use Flash animations to attract attention, and to provide unique interfaces. In 2005 Adobe Systems acquired Macromedia Inc.
