Façade

Diversion by William Walton (poems by Edith Sitwell), privately produced at the Chenil Gallery, Chelsea, London, in 1922. Its first public performance was at the Aeolian Hall, London, on 12 June 1923. Two concert suites were arranged later for enlarged orchestra and for piano duet. The work was also produced as a ballet (choreography by Frederick Ashton) at the Cambridge Theatre, London, on 26 April 1931.
