Fadiman, Clifton Paul (1904–1999)

US editor and media personality. Following his appointment as book reviewer for the New Yorker 1933, Fadiman became moderator of the national radio program Information Please 1938–48. In 1944 he was appointed to the editorial board of the Book of the Month Club. From the 1950s, he published literary anthologies and continued to be a popular radio and television personality.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, USA, and educated at Columbia University, Fadiman began his career as a teacher at the New York Ethical Culture School. He became an editor for the US book publishing company Simon and Schuster 1927.
