Fadiman, Clifton Paul (1904-1999)

US editor and media personality. Following his appointment as book reviewer for the New Yorker 1933, Fadiman became moderator of the national radio program Information Please 1938-48. In 1944 he was appointed to the editorial board of the Book of the Month Club. From the 1950s, he published literary anthologies and continued to be a popular radio and television personality.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, USA, and educated at Columbia University, Fadiman began his career as a teacher at the New York Ethical Culture School. He became an editor for the US book publishing company Simon and Schuster 1927.
