Fairbanks, Charles Warren (1852-1918)

US vice-president and attorney. A prominent attorney, specializing in railroad disputes, he became a senator in 1898, and vigorously supported President McKinley. He served as Theodore Roosevelt's vice-president (1905-09) and ran unsuccessfully for the vice-presidency in 1916.

He was born near Unionville Center, Ohio.
