Fairfax

Town in Osage County, northeast Oklahoma; population (1990) 1,700. It is located 35 km/22 mi southeast of Ponca City. A petroleum industry centre, with wells and refineries, it also has agriculture-related manufactures. There is a large American Indian population. The ballerina Maria Tallchief, who is of Osage descent, was born here in 1925.

Fairfax

Town and administrative headquarters of Fairfax County (from which it is itself administratively separate), north Virginia; population (1990) 19,600. It is located 26 km/16 mi west-southwest of Washington, DC. Fairfax is a primarily residential community with some light manufacturing, including the production of optical lenses, instruments, and prefabricated buildings. It has a rich history and many old buildings, including its courthouse (1799). George Mason University (1957) lies outside the town's limits to the south.

No--I reckon one o' them fancy groups--one o' them Latin goddesses that Fairfax is always gassin' about, sorter leadin', directin' and bossin' us where to dig.
