Fairlie

Coastal village in North Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, on the east shore of the Firth of Clyde, 4 km/3 mi south of Largs; population (2001) 1,500. It is separated from the islands of Great and Little Cumbrae by the channel of Fairlie Roads. Yacht-building is one of the principal local industries. Hunterston B nuclear power station lies 5 km/3 mi south of Fairlie, adjacent to the local coal terminal.

Kelburn Castle and the ruins of Fairlie Castle lie nearby.
