Fairmount

Town in Grant County, north-central Indiana; population (1990) 3,100. It is located 16 km/10 mi south of Marion, in an agricultural area from which natural gas and oil have been extracted. It has some light industries. Actor James Dean was born here in 1931.

Community in Camillus township, Onondaga County, central New York; population (1990) 12,300. A largely residential suburb, it is 8 km/5 mi west of Syracuse.
