Falcon, (Marie) Cornélie (1812–1897)

French soprano. She was a student at the Paris Conservatory and a pupil of Nourrit for operatic acting. Her first appearance was in 1832, at the Opéra, as Alice in Robert le Diable. She created Rachel in La juive/The Jewess (1835) and Valentine in Les Huguenots (1836). She gave her name to a particular kind of dramatic voice.
