Marino Faliero

Opera by Donizetti (libretto by E Bidera, based on Byron's drama), produced at the Théâtre Italien, Paris, on 12 March 1835. The Doge of Venice, Faliero, is first betrayed by his unfaithful wife Elena, then executed after engaging in a political conspiracy.
