Faludi, Susan

    0.02 sec.

Faludi, Susan (1959– )

US journalist. In Backlash: The Undeclared War Against American Women 1991, she argued that in the 1980s there had been a backlash against the advances made by women, instilling the idea that feminism had led women to expect to be able to have a career and a family, and their new roles had made them miserable.

Faludi was born in New York and began her career as a journalist 1981. She won a Pulitzer Prize in 1991 for ‘The Reckoning’, an investigation into the human costs of the 1986 buyout of Safeway Stores, which appeared in the Wall Street Journal 1990.
