The proud, fan-tailed birds have been causing a nuisance, leaving droppings around the hamlet of Bryneglwys, near Corwen.
About the time they stopped to stretch their necks the wind caught my gobbler decoy with a violent gust tipping it over on its fan-tailed butt, both Jakes gobbled in concern or alarm, I'm not sure which and stood straight on like statues.
Other bird species are 'queuing up on the other side of the Channel', including the black kite, serin, black-winged stilts and fan-tailed warbler.
