Faringdon

Market town in Oxfordshire, England; population (2001) 5,600. The district is largely agricultural but Faringdon also has some light industries.

Buildings include the large Gothic church of All Saints in the Early English style; Faringdon House, built by the poet Henry James Pye (1745–1813); and a prominent folly tower built in 1935.
