Fauquier County

County in north Virginia; area 1,686 sq km/651 sq mi; population (1990) 48,700. Its administrative headquarters is Warrenton. Situated in the central Piedmont, the county is known for horse raising. Wheat, corn, and wine grapes are grown, and there is some dairying.
