Favart, Charles Simon (1710–1792)

French playwright and librettist. He made a reputation as a librettist of light operas. He wrote Bastien und Bastienne (Mozart), Cythère assiégée (Gluck), Löttchen am Hofe (J A Hiller), Rosina (Shield), and for Franz Süssmayr (Soliman II).
