Featherstone

Town in West Yorkshire, England, 18 km/10 mi southeast of Leeds; population (2001) 14,200. Large coal mines once operated in the neighbourhood.

In 1893 Featherstone was the scene of a serious riot, in which a number of miners were shot dead.
