Feldstein, Martin S (1939– )

US economist. His contributions range from analysis of health and welfare economics to the economics of taxation. He has been a professor at Harvard since 1967, and has served as a member of President Reagan's Council of Economic Advisers 1982–84, as president and CEO of the National Bureau of Economic Research 1977–82 and 1984–2008, and president of the American Economic Association in 2004. He has also been an economic adviser to several other business and government organizations and a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal.

He was born in New York City, and is a graduate of Harvard College and of Oxford University in England.
