Felix, Antonius

Felix, Antonius (lived 1st century AD)

Prefect (magistrate) of Samaria (now northern Israel), and afterwards procurator (governor) of Judea AD 52–60. He was born a slave and was the brother of Pallas, the chief private secretary of the emperor Claudius.

Felix married Drusilla, sister of Agrippa II. In the New Testament, St Paul appeared before Felix at Caesarea (Acts 34).
