Feltre

Town in Veneto region, northeast Italy, in an Alpine valley 26 km/16 mi southwest of Belluno; population (1990 est) 20,000. Industries include textiles and metals. It has a 16th-century church and fine frescoed houses, rebuilt after its destruction in 1509 during the War of the League of Cambrai (which pitted France, Spain, and Germany against Venice).
