Ferdinand I (1503–1564)

Holy Roman Emperor who succeeded his brother Charles V in 1556; King of Bohemia and Hungary from 1526, King of the Germans from 1531. He reformed the German monetary system and reorganized the judicial Aulic council (Reichshofrat). He was the son of Philip the Handsome and grandson of Maximilian I.
