Ferndale

Town in Anne Arundel County, central Maryland; population (1990) 16,400. It is located 13 km/8 mi south of Baltimore city centre, and is a suburb to the east of Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

Ferndale

Town in Oakland County, southeast Michigan; population (1990) 25,100. It is located 13 km/8 mi northwest of Detroit. The town has factories that make chemicals, steel, castings and forgings, paint, and synthetic resins. Woodward Avenue, the main street of this primarily residential community, follows part of the historic Saginaw Trail, which led from Detroit to Saginaw.
