Ferretti, Giovanni (c. 1540–1609)

Italian composer and priest. He was maestro di cappella at Ancona Cathedral from 1575, and later worked at the Santa Casa in Loreto. Apart from a few sacred works, he specialized in the lighter types of madrigal, publishing five books of Canzoni alla Napolitana (1573–85).
