Field, Winston Joseph (1904-1969)

English-born Rhodesian politician. He went to Rhodesia in 1921 and, in 1958, entered politics, becoming prime minister in 1962. In 1964, he was succeeded by the more militant Ian Smith.

He was educated at Bromsgrove School, England. Before going into politics, he was a successful tobacco farmer.
