Fillmore

Town in Ventura County, southwest California; population (1990) 12,000. It is located 64 km/42 mi northwest of Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River. Set in a fruit growing and oil producing region, it has experienced some residential growth in the 1980s and 1990s.

Fillmore

Small town and administrative headquarters of Millard County, west-central Utah; population (1990) 2,000. It is located 203 km/126 mi south-southwest of Salt Lake City, to the west of the Pahvant Range, on the east edge of the Great Basin. It is a trade centre for a ranching region. In 1851 it was selected as capital of the Utah Territory. Its Territorial Statehouse (partially built in 1855) was the site of only brief activity before government was returned to Salt Lake City.
