Finke, Fidelio Friedrich (1891-1968)

German composer. He became inspector of the German music schools in Czechoslovakia in 1920 and director of the German Academy of Music in Prague in 1927.

He studied at the Prague Conservatory with his uncle Romeo Fidelio and with Vitězslav Novák for composition. He taught there from 1915.

Works

the opera Die Jacobsfahrt (1936); Pan symphony, overture, and other works for orchestra; two string quartets.
