Finney, Albert

Finney, Albert (1936– )

English stage and film actor. He created the title roles in Keith Waterhouse's stage play Billy Liar (1960) and John Osborne's Luther (1961), and was associate artistic director of the Royal Court Theatre 1972–75. Later roles for the National Theatre include Tamburlaine (1976) and Macbeth (1978). His films include Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), Tom Jones (1963), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Dresser (1984), Miller's Crossing (1990), The Browning Version (1994), and Erin Brockovich (2000).
