Fiorillo, Federigo (1755-1823)

Italian-German violinist and composer. He was a pupil of his father, Ignazio Fiorillo, travelled on concert tours, and in 1782 was appointed Kapellmeister in Riga. He visited Paris in 1785, and from 1788 to 1794 lived in London, where he appeared mostly as a viola player.

Works

a large quantity of violin music, including 36 Caprices (studies); string quartets, quintets and other chamber music, etc.
