FireWire

In computing, Apple's implementation of the IEEE 1394 serial connection system. The term has since been adopted by other computer manufacturers and is commonly used for the connection of digital video cameras to personal computers.

Apple has eliminated the FireWire port on the MacBook, rendering cameras that connect to computers only with a Firewire cable unusable.
Most Macs produced this century have a FireWire port, and relatively few PCs, apart from Sony's.
Unfortunately, Apple have done away with a Firewire port, which many people like to use to hook up video cameras and external hard drives.
