Fischer, Annie (1914–1995)

Hungarian pianist. She studied at the Budapest Academy with Dohnányi and in 1933 won the International Liszt Competition in Budapest. Her concert career had begun in 1928, and after spending the war years in Sweden she continued to tour worldwide. She was well known in Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, and Schubert.
