Fisher, Ralph Talcott, Jr (1920– )

US Russian specialist and educator. He was a resident in Soviet culture at the American Museum of Natural History and professor of history and director of the Russian and Eastern European Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He was born in Washington, DC. He specialized in the history of Russia and Eastern Europe, Soviet education and indoctrination, and Russian social history. His books include a Dictionary of Russian Historical Terms (1970) and a Source Book for Russian History from Early Times to 1917 (1972).
