Punch and Judy

Opera in one act by Harrison Birtwistle (libretto by Stephen Pruslin), produced at Aldeburgh on 8 June 1968, and conducted by Atherton. A revised version was produced in London on 3 March 1970. The plot follows the murderous Punch, who stabs Judy and sets out on a quest for Pretty Polly, eventually winning her favour after hanging Jack Kh.
