flash point

In physics, the lowest temperature at which a liquid or volatile solid heated under standard conditions gives off sufficient vapour to ignite on the application of a small flame.

The fire point of a material is the temperature at which full combustion occurs. For safe storage of materials such as fuel or oil, conditions must be well below the flash and fire points to reduce fire risks to a minimum.
